Canterbury University Village - Sonoda

Sonoda Christchurch Campus is located on Dovedale Avenue but set well back from the road so there is always a feeling of peace and quiet. Set in beautiful Japanese inspired gardens, Sonoda provides a perfect venue of a residential conference or seminar.

The main University of Canterbury Campus is a 7 minute walk away, and a 15minute taxi/car journey will take you to the central city business district and the Christchurch Convention Bureau

getting around

Sonoda is also very close to the Ilam shopping centre with its dairy, pizza shop, post office and others.

The Bush Inn Shopping centre, just a 10 minute walk away, has two supermarkets and loads of interesting shops as well as several ethnic restaurants. The bigger Westfield Mall, one of the largest shopping malls in New Zealand, is easily reached on the bus (or is a 20 minute walk for the more energetic). The mall has a cinema, food court, supermarket and over 140 shops!

parking

The car parking for the Sonoda campus is located in front of the entrance to Sonoda Campus. There is car parking for 70 cars, please indicate your need for a carpark when checking into your accommodation or arriving for your conference.
